Wonder no more. That's my company car, a very base model 2.0L manual Toyota Hilux Single Cab. This thing normally sold for arround 17k or so. Front engine, rear wheel drive, 140hp. What do you think?

I think we have those around here too, but I'm not sure.... Late 90's S10s are far more common as fleet cars and they're even more depressing.

I remember Polish Top Gear Magazine testing one of those (but I think they had a stronger engine in it) and saying that it was extremely fun to slide around.

I think they got either the 3.0L Diesel with turbo, altough that thing only mades 172hp, but it's quite fun to drive.

Makes more power than a new base model mini!

I saw a lot of those on my 9-year Axis of Evil World Tour. They really are hard to kill.

Toyota should sell it over here! Instead of the Tacoma why not just give us the Hilux? A base model like that would be awesome. They could probably sell it for like 15k

All the utility companies around here ran those S-10s with the 2.5L 4 banger back in the glory days that were the early 90s. After they put the utility boxes on them and filled them up, they would barely move. They have all switched to fleet F-150s by now.

Back in the early 90's we still had the D20 and the Bonanza as Chevrolet's main truck/blazer, the S10 wouldn't show up until later, in this generation:

This car was produced for over 10 years and it's still ubiquitous in brazilian streets.

I've actually seen a lot of companies running Colorado fleets as well, especially National Fuel

There's something about the very basest of the base models of these small pickups that appeals to me. My co-worker has a 1998 Nissan Pickup (before it was named anything, it's just a Nissan Pickup) with RWD, 5 speed manual, power steering, and not much else. It just seems so practical and useful. I think it will be impossible to kill. I borrowed it once to haul a church organ halfway across the state of California, but that's another story.
